Rhyl Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)

A ball is out of bounds when:

  1. Over any boundary fence, wall or top and beyond the bund
  2. Beyond any line of white stakes
  3. LOST or OUT OF BOUNDS: A ball may be dropped in the vicinity of where the ball was lost or went out of bounds (including the nearest fairway area), under a two-stroke penalty in general play not in competition
  4. Internal out of bounds: A white out of bound stroke defined with a black top showing the start/end of OOB

2. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16.1)

Should any of the obstructions below interfere with a player’s stance or swing or if a ball comes into rest in any of these obstructions it may be lifted and dropped within ONE club-length of the nearest point of relief and NO NEARER THE HOLE without penalty.

  1. Man-made roads and paths within the course boundary
  2. Sprinkler heads, manhole covers, benches and staked trees
  3. Coloured dstance markers, (discs and stakes) black, blue, yellow and red
  4. On course toilet between 5th (14th) and 6th (15th) holes
  5. When playing on the 4th/13th or 5th/14th hole any ball landing near to the 6th/15th tee safety net will have to play the ball as it lies or take a penalty drop as per R&A rules
  6. Any ball landing by the temporary fencing around the back and side of the 4th/13th green and the left side of the 5th/14th fairway and green, behind the 6th/15th green, down the left hand side of the 8th/17th fairway and behind the 9th/18th green will be a free drop, nearest point fo relief from point of entry no nearer the hole

3. GOLF ETIQUETTE

All players must replace divots, repair pitch marks on greens and smooth sand in bunkers

4. GPS

Satellite measuring devices may be used on the golf course

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE (27-1)

Match Play – Loss of Hole; Stroke Play – Two Strokes
